Systems and Chaos

The Systems and Chaos poster series centers around the fundamental theory describing the concept of chaos. One of the first principles forged by chaos mathematicians was the ever present level of order in any system. This principle is a foundation of chaos even when we lack the means for analyzing a particularly complex system. The first piece in the series is a representation of that order. It defines the system for the series. The second, third, and fourth depictions introduce varying degrees of unknown variables, including shape, size, rotation, composition, and color.  The fourth depiction is a culmination of all of these systems into one piece.

To generate these variables I used a combination of external javascript files as well as native randomizing elements within Adobe Illustrator and Cinema 4D. Screen-printing was also a conscious decision as each pull of the squeegee creates unknown variables throughout the system.
